We design, build and operate software that helps art schools, independent teachers and creative organisations teach across the internet. That work includes virtual studio classrooms, curriculum and course management, student portfolios, community exhibitions, teacher training and course analytics. INTECHLEGENT CO., LIMITED is the data controller for personal information we collect directly through these services unless a separate agreement names another party as controller.
When a school operates its own courses on our platform, we act as a service provider to that school. In such arrangements, the school is often the controller of its own student records and we process that information on the school behalf under a written agreement. Nothing in that arrangement changes our promise to protect the information you place in our care.
Information We Collect
We collect only that information which is genuinely needed to deliver your lessons, exhibitions and support. The categories of information we may handle include the following. Identity information covers things such as your name, username, profile image and a personal description you choose to share.
Contact information covers an email address, a phone number and postal address when you ask us to send materials or when your school requires one for records. Account information covers a username, password details, language preference and the account settings you choose. Learning information covers lesson history, submitted artworks, sketches, comments, grades, feedback and reflections created inside the platform.
Technical information covers browser type, device type, operating system, internet protocol address, approximate location, pages visited and the date and time of each visit. Payment information is handled by trusted payment partners and we do not store full card numbers ourselves. If you contact our support desk we may keep a record of the conversation and the files you send to help resolve your question.
We purposefully design our services to avoid collecting more than we need. When a feature is optional, such as a profile photo or a portfolio summary, we let you choose whether to provide it. Where we enrol a child, we rely on the school and the parent or guardian to provide the necessary consent and we do not market directly to children.
We configure the platform so that children receive only the features appropriate to their age and to the permissions set by their school. Children may normally post art to a private class gallery rather than an open public wall, and teachers moderate comments to keep the tone supportive. We never require a child to provide more personal data than is reasonable and we never ask for financial details from a child.
A parent or guardian who wishes to review, correct or delete a child record should begin by contacting the school that enrolled the child. If that path does not resolve the matter, the parent or guardian may contact us directly using the details at the end of this policy and we will help through our verification procedures.
Security of Personal Data
We take the security of your artworks and personal records seriously. Our engineering team applies encryption to data while it travels across the internet and while it rests in storage, uses role-based access so that only authorised staff reach certain records, and stores passwords in a form that cannot be read back in plain text.
We limit access to personal information to those employees and contractors who need it to perform their work, and each of them is under a duty of confidentiality. We review our technical safeguards regularly and we carry out checks to catch weaknesses before they become problems. Physical access to our servers is restricted to named data centre personnel.
No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot promise perfect security against every conceivable attack. When we no longer need information, we destroy it securely or turn it into anonymous statistics that can no longer identify you. If you ask us to delete data but the law requires us to keep it, we will keep only what the law demands and erase the rest as soon as we are permitted.
Your Rights
